Benton was a caring teacher, a passionate mentor, and a strong advocate for helping youth discover who they are and where they belong. He believed that every young person should have the opportunity to explore their interests, build confidence, and develop meaningful connections within their community. Following his passing at the age of 36, those who knew and loved him created The Benton Project to carry forward the values he lived every day.
Through grants and funding opportunities, The Benton Project seeks to inspire, engage, and empower youth by helping remove financial barriers that can prevent them from trying new experiences and pursuing their passions. Funding may support a wide range of interests and activities, including arts, music, cooking, life skills, technology, leadership, education, community development, and other enriching programs.
The Benton Project is dedicated to creating opportunities that encourage exploration, personal growth, and a sense of belonging. By helping young people discover new passions, develop skills, and connect with others, the fund aims to continue the positive impact Benton had on the lives of so many.
Through every grant awarded, The Benton Project honours Benton’s belief that when young people are given the chance to explore, learn, and grow, they can build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
