Supporting African-Nova Scotian students
The Norma R. Smith Memorial Scholarship was established in 2022 in memory of our loving mother, Norma, an amazing woman whose heart embraced not only her children, but all those within her sphere of influence. The scholarship is a $2,000 award given to a graduating senior of African-Nova Scotian descent, to be used at a post-secondary institution of their choice.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this award, applicants must be of African-Nova Scotian descent and a Grade 12 student who has been accepted by a recognized Canadian post-secondary education college or university who plans to attend that institution in the fall of the same year.
The deadline for applications is June 21.
Award Frequency
Typically scholarships will be awarded annually; however, the donor reserves the right to award scholarships on a more or less frequent basis as income levels and CFNS permit.
